WHAT IS TRUTH?

In the book of John, it says that if you are a disciple of Jesus, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.

It doesn’t take too much to work out that Satan, who is the father of lies, is opposed to the truth. His goal is not freedom but bondage. So what lies has he put out that bring people into bondage?

Lie number 1. Teenagers are told that if they wear a condom, they can have sex anytime they want it. Any sex before marriage will damage the person’s emotional makeup, making it harder for them to sustain long term relationships.

Lie number 2. Prosperity doctrine is from God. There is no such thing in the bible. In fact it warns us that if we become a disciple of Jesus we are heading for trouble.

Lie number 3. Alcohol is the panacea for all your troubles. It is more likely to create more problems than it solves.

Lie number 4. Homosexuality is normal. In fact, it is a response to an emotional deficiency that is compounded by the homosexual lifestyle making their deficiency greater.

Lie number 5. The answer to teenage pregnancy is more sex education. That is what they said when they introduced it in the early 80s, yet it hasn’t stopped teenage pregnancy.

Lie number 6. Having an abortion is OK if you don’t want the baby that you conceived. Abortionists and pro-death supporters go to great lengths to hide the trauma that many women experience after having an abortion. I wonder why?

Lie number 7. It doesn’t matter if a child has a father. Government and society would rather ignore the evidence that a caring father is central to any child’s emotional development and well being.

Lie number 8. Having a building, a paid preacher and a weekly ritual makes you a church. This thinking has turned an organism into an organisation that spends most of its time controlling the lives of those involved.

Lie number 9. Secular values bring the most harmony to society. Tell that to the increasing number of children that are physically, sexually and emotionally abused.

Lie number 10. The government can solve all our problems. The only thing that can solve our problems is a change of heart and that can only come about through faith in Jesus Christ.

All these lies bring people into bondage to their own confused thinking. The end result is that people do not know what is right or wrong anymore so they are forever chasing their tail to determine what they will or will not or can or cannot do. As a result boundaries are forever being pushed and lives are destroyed, that of the perpetrator and the victim.

We should not be surprised as Satan’s main aim is to kill, steal and destroy. At the moment he is doing a very good job…with our help.
