WHO IS THE BEST EVANGELIST?

Billy Graham? Benny Hinn? John Wesley? Reinhardt Bonke? Katherine Khulman?

The fact is, none of the above. The fact is, the best evangelist is a husband. If a child comes to Christ, abut 12% bring their family with them. If a mother comes to Christ, about 24% bring their family with them. If a husband comes to Christ, about 87% bring their family with them.

In other words in most cases, save a man and you save a family. If the family came with Dad, 62% will stay. If the family came with mum, 50% will stay. If the child came on his own, 33% will stay.

What ministry in most churches is the one that is done the least? You got it. Ministry to men. Nearly every church has a ministry to women, some several. Nearly every church has ministries for children and teenagers. But very few have ministries for men.

That means that the church is ignoring the person who is more likely to bring people into the kingdom of God.

Who is the best person to get a man interested in faith in God? The answer is simple. Another man. If a wife asks her husband to get interested that is seen as nagging. If it is another man, it is not.

What does a church need to offer men to make them want to be interested? They need to offer, adventure, challenge, boldness, competition, communication, activity, doing and fun.

What do most churches offer? Boring, same as, routine, lectures, passivity, listening, sitting and inactivity in most cases.

It should be no surprise then that men hate going to church.

One church I read about offers “free and flexible” worship. You can sit, stand, sing, not sing, talk to you mates, have a drink, or sit to one side in an armchair. Has that put people off? No, it has attracted more men.

When you think about it, if you say you have to do things this way every week, you are creating a ritual and shutting out the Holy Spirit. Imagine Rob comes to the meeting with his mate. He sits at the back with his coffee and watches. The spirit of God talks to him. He hears and listens. He talks to his mate, who explains what it is all about. The Holy Spirit switches the light on in Rob’s head and he commits his life to Christ.

Isn’t that better than Rob having to sit in the congregation, singing meaningless songs and listening to a an irrelevant sermon and then going home and telling his wife he is not going back there as it is so boring?

Interesting statistics - where did they come from?
Of course unless you can substantiate these your writings are as dubious as your unqualified figures.

If you are talking about credibility, may I suggest that yours would be more genuine if you were not annonymous.

All the figures were a compilation from my own observation, research on the internet and research done by reputable ministries like the George Barna Research organization and Church for Men.

I wouldn't call Benny Hinn a great evangelist, but that would depend on how greatness is defined, wouldn't it?

Yes Ross, that is quite true. The way the Bible explains it seems to be quite the opposite of how we do. Jesus said if anyone wanted to be great amongst them they had to be the servant of all.

Unfortunately the church has picked up the world's view of greatness, so we have our star turns just like they do. It is probably one of the reasons why we do not look any different to the world.
