WITCHCRAFT 4

Having written four blogs about witchcraft, it occurred to me that some people might be getting the wrong idea. For a lot of people, witchcraft is all about the black arts and witches and spells. It is as this definition from Webster’s dictionary shows;

The power or practices of witches; black magic; sorcery. A witch is described as a woman who supposedly has supernatural powers by a compact with evil spirits.

In Deuteronomy 18 v 10 it says this…

Let no one be found among you who sacrifices son or daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens (tea leaves and tarot cards), engages in witchcraft, or cast spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord.

Being involved in this aspect of the supernatural whether it is billed as ‘black arts’ or ‘white’ as some witches would have you to believe, is a no no for the believer as it is the domain of satan. An off shoot of the black arts is the New Age movement which is a sanitised version of the black arts.

Despite these facts, the church is not immune to witchcraft although it is not as obvious. The bible says that Satan is an angel of light so he is not going to turn up at the meeting dressed in black with horns coming out of the top of his head and a pitchfork in his hand.

If the bible is true and we assume that it is, then he will appear as an angel of light. In other words, he is there to deceive us into thinking that what we do is God inspired and God blessed when the truth is it is anything but that.

God has made it quite clear that he has given us a free will and has no desire to control us. He will do all in his power to encourage us to follow his perfect will and obey his voice. After all, why wouldn’t he as he knows what is best for us. Ultimately the decision is ours and ours alone and he wants us to be drawn by the power of his love, not his control.

The minute anyone tries to control you he is operating at the behest of Satan masquerading as an angel of light. When someone says you have to do things a certain way it is Satan masquerading as an angel of light. When your religious observance robs you of your freedom in Christ, it is Satan masquerading as an angel of light.

If you are told that you can obtain your salvation by keeping certain laws or by following certain rituals, it is Satan masquerading as an angel of light. I used to work with a poor deluded catholic who had the idea that if he didn’t go to mass every day before work he would not gain his salvation.

Christ set us free for freedom, not for bondage. Anything that does not allow you to enjoy the freedom that is in Christ is Satan masquerading as an angel of light. Having failed to prevent you from becoming a disciple of Jesus, he is going to work hard to make sure that you never enjoy the benefits of your salvation.

His main weapon is a religious spirit that seeks to control everything you do, which is commonly known as witchcraft. If you get involved in the black arts, the end result is that Satan always controls what you do. When he is operating in the church he can do no other as it is the opposite to what God does.

Paul asked the Galatian church, “Who has bewitched you? Having begun in the spirit are you now trying to attain your goal in the flesh.”

Anything that attempts to control is flesh and the product of witchcraft and has no place in the kingdom of God.

witchcraft also described as 'rebellion' in the Bible.
Many 'Christians' rebel against the Bible message of LOVE and MERCY.
LOVE is great but has to take into account the Bible commandments.
If you fall in love but if its with someone other than your wife than your wife takes your sexual passion by giving you her body until the fire is spent.
That is the love of married couples. IT prevents acts of adultery. See 2 Corinthians I think where it says..a wifes body is not her own but belongs to her husband . and a mans body is not his own but belongs to his wife so that in the case of love outside of marriage they find relief in their marriage partner instead of committing adultery. in that way we should treat women as our sisters, older women as our mothers etc. [lack of teaching in the Church in my opinion]
