As I was thinking about topics for my blog, I realised that some of my readers may not understand the concept of the supernatural, so I thought that I would give a specific example.
Back in the 70s in the UK, a member of my fellowship introduced us to the idea of ‘rejection.’ God had spoken to him about it because he was ministering out of his rejection, which meant he did it for acceptance not for God’s glory.
God in his love and wisdom turned it around for good and was able to show the minister the reasons for his actions and to deal with the issue, delivering him from a spirit of rejection.
He tested out his findings on us and we saw a dramatic change take place in the fellowship, one of which was more power in ministry. I was a recipient of his ministry and was delivered from a spirit of rejection like him. This started me on a path of praying for people who had rejection.
At this stage I need to say what rejection is. Usually it is evidenced by a feeling of abandonment or non-acceptance for you as a person and can develop into an orphan spirit. Whether the abandonment is real or not is irrelevant. If a person has a perception of abandonment, that person will feel abandoned.
What causes it? I have indentified at least 11 different situations that can cause rejection. They are as follows…..
1. a mother who has an unwanted baby
2. an unwanted child born outside of marriage
3. parents who cannot express love to their child
4. divorcing parents
5. a child who thinks their brother or sister is loved more than them
6. rejection at school by other children
7. husband or wife may go off with another person
8. divorce causing rejection in husband or wife
9. the death of a loved one in a family
10. a child who is adopted
11. a child brought up in commercial child care, not by parents
This list is probably not exhaustive but serves to highlight what can cause rejection. In many cases, especially with children, they are not consciously aware of the fact, but it will reveal itself in their behaviour.
Rejection can be individual as well as corporate. Australia is a rejected nation. The original white settlers were rejected by their own people when they were sent out here for minor crimes in many cases, and when they arrived they rejected the original inhabitants.
In that regard, we are not going to ‘solve’ the indigenous problem until we solve the rejection problem. Australia will not attain to its full potential until the national rejection on the nation is dealt with.
Part two to follow.
