CLIMATE CHANGE

Are you convinced about climate change? I am not and even less so when I read that a British MP praised the Chinese government for stopping population growth as an environmental measure.

He believes that stopping 400 million babies from being born or being killed off was good stuff because it meant that they didn’t create a carbon footprint in the first place.

How did they do it? Apparently through forced abortions, forced sterilisations, abandonment of children, deliberately killing orphans through neglect, extortionate fines, and destruction of property, imprisonment and torture if you have more than one baby.

So, what we are reading here is that it is OK to kill, steal and destroy to ensure that global warming doesn’t take over.

Anyone with any knowledge of the scriptures and common sense won’t take long to work out that the prime virtues that Satan offers is killing, stealing and destroying. Any person or government that does these three is very clearly a servant of Satan.

Whether climate change is real or imagined, it does not give us any right to deliberately kill to stop it happening. Of course, if you are so possessed with the idea, you believe that the end always justifies the means.

And that is the sad thing about the green religion, things are more important than people. They worship the god of earth, and are happy to destroy any human that might be contrary to their ideology.

We are told in scripture to care for the earth and there is no doubt that we have made a mess of it. But killing babies will not stop global warming. What will is to stop sinning. The earth has degenerated at a level commensurate with the sin of mankind. Reverse sin and you will reverse the degeneration of planet earth.

The first sin to be addressed will need to be greed. Western societies amassing of possessions is quite obscene to the point where we whinge and moan if the slightest deprivation comes across our path.

“Oh dear with the price of petrol we will have to forgo our weekend entertainment, eating out at restaurants and overseas holiday” says the mother as she stands in front of her new four wheel drive parked in the driveway of their 30 square four bedroom two bathroom house with rumpus and study and pool in the backyard.

Whilst we stand closeted in the comfort of our obscene wealth in comparison, across the sea is a family of four living in one room with a dirt floor with no sanitation and no running water and with mother having to cook on an open fire outside the house.

The amount of natural resources we consume to maintain such an indulgent lifestyle is beyond defence. God has promised to meet all our needs, not our wants. It is time to take stock and check to see if what we have is need or a want. If life is just as sweet without it, perhaps it is time to get rid of it and give it to someone who is in greater need than us.
